Don’t Worry Be Happy!

That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life-whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear. Luke 12:22

Opening Thoughts

Today I want to talk about worry. God tell us in His word not to worry or be afraid many times in the bible. He wants us to exercise our faith and put our total trust in Him. If we don’t trust and believe that He will take care of us, we will worry.

It doesn’t please God when we don’t exercise our faith and take Him at His word. If God said it, than it is true! There is no ifs, ands, or buts about it. God’s word will not lie to you!

By worrying about our needs and making them known to everyone, we are not setting a very good example for others who may not know Him. Why would they want to follow God if we can’t even trust Him and believe that all of our needs will be met.

Your testimony about your faith and trust in God should be very real to those around you. They are watching you and you should be a huge testimony of the power of God in your life.

Worry will swallow you if you don’t have faith! Don’t let that happen!

If you are struggling with worry today, I pray this message will encourage you. God knows your needs. You need to trust Him and not worry.

Scripture Reading

Luke 12:22-32

Then turning to his disciples, Jesus said, “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life-whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear. For life is more than food, and your body more than clothing. Look at the ravens. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns and God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds!

Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?

And don’t be concerned about what to eat and what to drink. Don’t worry about such things. These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.

Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? And if worry can’t accomplish a little thing like that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things?

So, don’t be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the kingdom.

Personal Message

I hope this passage has encouraged you today. All of us struggle with worry, but we need to turn every worry into a prayer. God already knows all of your needs and he will meet every single one of them. Give your worries over to Him and watch what He does. As it says in the above passage, it makes him very happy to take care of you. That’s what he loves to do. He wants to show himself strong on your behalf, so don’t worry and be happy!

So give your worries over to God and He will give you His peace that surpasses all of your understanding. I don’t know about you, but I much rather have His peace than worry.

So cast all of your cares upon Christ today, because He cares so much for you.

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.

Encouraging one heart at a time,

Sandy C
